Um eines vorweg zu sagen: Das wird kein Artikel über Reue oder über den Wunsch nach Veränderung. Wenn ich meine letzten 10 Jahre als Lehrerin betrachte erfüllt mich pure Dankbarkeit.
Ich würde alles wieder genau so tun.
Aber es gibt doch ein paar Dinge, die könnte der portugiesische Wind meinem 10 Jahre jüngeren Lehrerinnen-Ich dort am Strand sitzend gerne zuflüstern:
Unterschätze nie die Möglichkeit deines Einflusses auf das Leben deiner SchülerInnen
- Es ist wichtig was du sagst und wie du es sagst.
- Du kannst in SchülerInnen sehr viel bewegen, mit Taten, Worten und ja, sogar mit deinem „einfach so sein“.
Unterricht ist kein Performance – Wettbewerb
- Meiner Meinung nach einer der größten Missverständnisse im Lehrberuf: du musst nichts performen, du musst nicht vorgeben etwas zu sein, zu wissen, zu können, was du am Ende gar nicht bist oder weißt oder kannst.
- Du darfst Fragen stellen, auf die du keine Antwort weißt. Das ist spannend. Für alle.
Die Leute die dich als Lehrkraft bewerten, bewerten nicht dich, sondern sich
- Was wirklich wichtig ist, das weißt du selbst und deine Klasse/SchülerInnen.
- Lasse dir nicht von einem unflexiblen System sagen, dass du flexibel sein sollst. (Dazu gibt es demnächst nochmal einen Blogartikel. Versprochen.)
Ein ‚Nein‘ zu jemand anderen ist ein ‚Ja‘ zu dir selbst
- Du kannst zwar schon viel besser ‚Nein‘ sagen als die meisten Lehrkräfte, aber tue es auch wirklich ohne schlechtes Gewissen. Es ist okay und gut so.
Du bist ein wunderbarer Mensch und eine tolle Lehrerin. Deine Leidenschaft ist ansteckend und deine Ideen sind genau richtig so.
- Lass dir das auf keinen Fall nehmen, nur weil das System Schule auf Antinomien beruht (ein guter Blogartikel dazu ist der hier).
- Lasse deinen Fokus genau da wo er ist, auf deiner Beziehung zu deinen SchülerInnen.
- Trau dich Schule neu zu denken, auch wenn du dafür den ein oder anderen Augenroller kassierst.
Die ersten 30 Jahre als Lehrerin sind die schwierigsten
- Mein letzter Tipp: Lache, so viel und so oft es geht. Lehrkräfte die sich zu ernst nehmen sind nicht zu gebrauchen. Lache über dich, deine Fehler, das System, deine Kollegen, meinetwegen auch mal über Schüler, aber am meisten: LACHE MIT IHNEN!
